A New Chapter for Idaho Independent Bank
A message from Kurt Gustavel, President and CEO
I am excited to announce that on October 11, 2018, the Board of Idaho Independent Bank (“IIB” or the “Bank”) approved a plan to combine with First Interstate BancSystem, Inc. (“First Interstate”), a community bank headquartered in Billings, Montana. Per the terms of our merger agreement, Idaho Independent Bank is expected to become First Interstate Bank during the second quarter of 2019.
Our merger with First Interstate is truly an exciting evolution of our Bank’s commitment to our customers and our communities. Similar to IIB, First Interstate has a long tradition of being focused on customers and meeting their needs while working to make our communities a better place. It is this shared culture and philosophy that makes the blending of our companies such a positive thing for both customers, employees, and our communities.
For more information about IIB’s merger with First Interstate, including shareholder information, please see the full press release.
So, what does this mean for customers and shareholders? Customers you will soon have access to an expanded line of financial services, including Wealth Management, business services, and an expanded network of branches across Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming.
There will be no immediate impact to customers or accounts, and no action on your part is needed at this time. After closing of the merger and as we get closer to the conversion to First Interstate Bank, there may be some customer impact. We will be sure to share information with you as quickly as it becomes available.

Thank you again for your continued support of IIB and for your business. We are excited for IIB to join the First Interstate family and look forward to the many opportunities and benefits this merger will bring to our customers.
